THE SIGNS OF ALIENATION OF AHMET HAMDI TANPINAR’S NOVELS ACCORDING TO TIME AND PLACE

Abstract

Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar is one of the most important authors of modern Turkish literature. Tanpınar testifies both the comflict which passing from a civilization to another one creates in tihe community and collapsing values in world during the Second World War. Especially, he reads modernist novalists. Tanpınar’s noval heroes are undecisive and hesitated. They become stranger in time and place. So, Tanpınar’s novels include a variety content due to alienation and changing which forms in time and place. n this work, context of the time and the place the manifestations of alienation will be searched in Tanpınar’s novels
