Writing Rules

General Rules

1. Manuscripts should be prepared based on Author Guidelines and sent to the Journal Submission System. To submit an article for the first time, please select the Submit Article button, follow the necessary steps, and upload the article and other necessary information and documents.

2. After the applications are uploaded to the submission system, they are subjected to preliminary editorial evaluation.

3. Authors should prepare their manuscripts using our typesetting template in Microsoft Office Word. Manuscripts that do not comply with the article template will be subject to editorial desk rejection. For the template, please refer here.

4. Information about the author(s) in the files uploaded to the system will be eliminated by the journal editor to ensure a double-blind review process.

5. Authors must provide their ORCID ID in the template form for each author and provide them in the Journal Submission System. Authors can obtain their ORCID ID from https://orcid.org/signin.

6. Authors should upload their plagiarism reports using applicable outlets such as iThenticate or Turnitin. In addition, they should also sign and upload the Copyright Transfer Form. Click here for the copyright form.

7. If the article is the outcome of a thesis or a project, it should be mentioned in a footnote on the article's first page.

8. The Journal does not publish work conducted with anonymous internet-based or other sources if their content does not include any form of scientific evaluation. All articles submitted to the Journal must be original work and must not have been included in other publication processes. Manuscripts presented in congresses and published as full texts are not accepted. If a manuscript is submitted for evaluation, it is assumed that the authors accept these rules. No royalties are paid to authors. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the articles if they do not comply with the rules, to request corrections and revisions. 

Writing Rules

1. Authors should prepare their manuscripts using our typesetting template in Microsoft Office Word. Manuscripts that do not comply with the article template will be subject to editorial desk rejection. All the rules are given in the typesetting template. Click here for the typesetting template.

2. Except for the introduction page of the article and additional information on the last page, when necessary, the author's identity (s) or any information that may be linked to the author(s) should not be included in the text.

3. Manuscripts should be in the range of 5.000-12.000 words. Manuscripts should be prepared using the "Calibri" font with 11 points and one (1) spacing. If the articles exceed these limits to a certain extent, the journal editor will decide to initiate the evaluation process.

4. The Turkish and English titles, Turkish and English abstracts (not exceeding 120 words) should be written with 10 font sizes in "Calibri" font and one (1) spaced. The titles of the articles should accurately represent the work.

5. Journal adapts to the principles of Committee on Publication Ethics and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors to maintain the highest standards of publication ethics. For detailed information, visit http://sbd.ogu.edu.tr/.

6. For research requiring ethics committee approval, authors should provide relevant information about the permission (committee providing the approval, date, and protocol number) both in the methods section and at the end of the manuscript. Manuscripts that do not have an ethics committee approval or have missing information will not be evaluated and published in the Journal.

7. For in-text and end-of-text citations, American Psychological Association 6th edition guidelines should be followed.
