OTAM, The Journal of the Center for Ottoman Studies, Ankara University, is a peer-reviewed academic periodical published biannually in Spring and Autumn. The journal features original and scientific articles, translations, and book reviews pertaining to Ottoman history. Manuscripts may be submitted in Turkish, English, French, or German.
OTAM is indexed by Index Islamicus, MLA International Bibliography, and Turkologischer Anzeiger.
Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be previously unpublished and should not be under evaluation for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions for any materials for which they do not hold the copyright.
Submissions to OTAM are expected to be original, scholarly, and contribute to the existing literature. In addition to original research and analytical articles, the journal includes translations, archival document publications, conference reports, obituaries, and book reviews.
Manuscripts prepared in accordance with the OTAM style guidelines must be submitted in Word format through the Dergipark system. A "Copyright Transfer Agreement" signed by the author(s) must also be uploaded to the system. Manuscripts that do not comply with the formatting rules will not be accepted.
The OTAM Editorial Board reserves the right to make minor editorial revisions that do not affect the substantive content of the work.
