AUTHOR’S GUIDELINES
Submitted works should be written using MS Word program in Garamond and follow the order indicated below:
Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Text, Tables, Illustrations/Photos, Conclusion and Works Cited
1. Title: The title must be written in 16 point capital letters and centered. There must be 6nk space between the sub-headings and paragraphs.
2. Affiliation: The Author’s name(s) must written in 11 point and appear below the title on the right hand. An asterisk footnote (*) following the last name should provide the author’s affiliation and correspondence e-mail, ORCID number, city and country information, written in 10 point.
Example: *Prof. Dr., Ankara University, Faculty of Letters, Department of History, e-mail: xxx@xxx.edu.tr, ORCID: 0000-0000-0000-0000, Ankara/TÜRKİYE.
3. Abstract: Works apart from book reviews, translations and news must include abstracts of 150-300 words in both Turkish and English and placed after the title. The abstract must be set in 10 point type.
4. Keywords: The Turkish and English abstract should be followed by 4-6 keywords.
5. Main Text: The main text of the article must be written in 11 point, single-spaced. Pages must be numbered and have the following margins: Top –Bottom: 5.6 cm; Right–Left:4.5cm; Paragraph indent 0,75; 6nk space between paragraphs.
Articles should generally be no more than 10.000 words in length (plus figures and tables).
Authors of larger manuscripts should contact the Editor for advice.
6. Quotations: Quotations must be enclosed in quotation marks. Citations up to two lines should be integrated into the text in italics. Quotations longer than two lines must be set as a separate paragraph, indented 1 cm from both left and right margins, formatted as a block with single line spacing, and written in 10-point italic font.
7. Section Titles: Section titles may be used to provide an orderly flow of information in the article. Section titles must be written in 11-point bold, and the first letter of each word in the title must be capitalized.
8. Tables and Pictures: Tables must be numbered and titled. Table numbers must be at the far left and non-italic. The title must be in italics with the first letter of each word in the title capitalized. Tables should be placed in the body of the text.
Pictures must be high resolution (300 dpi). Pictures must be numbered and have a caption. Diagrams, tables and pictures must not exceed one-third of the total space of the article.
9. Footnotes: Footnotes should be written in 10pt. In-text footnote citations must follow punctuation. The first time a work is cited in a footnote, the full citation must be given. Subsequently, the citation may be shortened. If the work to be cited in the footnote is exactly the same as the work cited in the footnote immediately before it (with no intervening footnotes), you may use ibid. or ibid. with a page number.
