Infection Control Nursing and Midwifery Students Intern Program Training

Abstract

In this study, clinical practice students to intern training given prior to basic protection infection (hand hygiene, use of protective equipment, stab wounds and exposure to bodily fluids, waste management), aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. Clinical infection control team at work in the 2 to 9 February 2015. (Dr. AÖ, Infection Control Nurse SC and GK) lasted 4 hours of training was make by the students. Training was evaluated by pre- and post-knowledge in the form created in accordance with the relevant literature by researchers. 25 knowledge questions correctly answered the question on the form that contains "1" point wrong"0" was considered. The frequency of categorical data and statistical percentages are calculated.  P <0.05 was considered statistically significant. The respondent of average age of the students who participated in the study 22.07± 1.29, respectively. 25, 9’s % of students (n = 30) not receive education about prevention of infection before. 15.01±3.51 prior knowledge score of education, while post-training knowledge score of 19.37± 4.04 is the pre made training and after it was determined that the difference between the average knowledge score statistically significant (p <0.05).
