Pediatri Hemşirelerinin Mesleki Öz Yeterlilikleri ile Hasta ve Aile Eğitimi Uygulamalarına Yönelik Tutumlarının İncelenmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, pediatri hemşirelerinin mesleki öz yeterlilikleri ile hasta ve ailesinin eğitim uygulamalarına yönelik tutumlarının ve aralarındaki ilişkiyi belirlemektir.
Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte bir çalışma olup, Mayıs-Haziran 2022 tarihleri arasında, Orta Karadeniz Bölgesindeki bir ilde, bir üniversite ve devlet hastanesinde çalışan 150 pediatri hemşiresi ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler toplanırken, Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Hemşirelik Mesleği Öz Yeterlik Ölçeği ve Hasta Eğitimi Uygulama Ölçeği kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Pediatri hemşirelerinin Hemşirelik Mesleği Öz Yeterlik Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 61.27±13.12 ve Hasta Eğitimi Uygulama Ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 165.37±20.21’dir. Pediatri hemşirelerinin hasta eğitimi uygulama ölçeği puan ortalamaları ile hemşirelik mesleği öz yeterlik ölçeği puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır (r:0.475, p:0.000).
Sonuç: Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, pediatri hemşirelerinin hasta eğitimi uygulamasına ilişkin tutumlarının yüksek düzeyde ve hemşirelik mesleği öz yeterlilik düzeylerinin ise orta düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca pediatri hemşirelerinin hemşirelik mesleği öz yeterlikleri ile hasta eğitimi uygulamasına ilişkin tutumları arasında pozitif yönde zayıf ilişki saptanmıştır.

Investigation of Pediatric Nurses' Professional Self-Efficacy and Attitudes Towards Patient and Family Education Practices

Abstract

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between pediatric nurses' professional self-efficacy and patient and family attitudes towards educational practices.
Methods: This study was descriptive and cross-sectional. The study was conducted between May and June 2022 with 150 pediatric nurses working in a university and a state hospital in a province located in the Central Black Sea Region of Türkiye. The data were collected through the Descriptive Information Form, Nursing Profession Self-Efficacy Scale and Patient Education Practice Scale.
Results: The mean total score of the Nursing Profession Self-Efficacy Scale of pediatric nurses was 61.27±13.12 and the mean total score of the Patient Education Practice Scale was 165.37±20.21. It was found that there was a statistically significant relationship between the mean scores of the Patient Education Practice Scale and the nursing profession self-efficacy scale of pediatric nurses. (r: 0.475, p: 0.000).
Conclusion: It was found that pediatric nurses had a high level of attitudes towards patient education practice and moderate levels of nursing profession self-efficacy. In addition, a weak positive relationship was found between pediatric nurses' nursing profession self-efficacy and their attitudes towards patient education practice.
