Attention authors (It must be read before paper preparation and submission!)
- Authors are solely responsible for the originality of the article they submit for evaluation. Furthermore, authors agree that they have not submitted, and will not submit, their article to any other journal(s) during the evaluation process.
- Following the initial review, articles may be RETURNED to the authors by the editor/section editor, along with a justification, if deemed necessary.
- The "peer review" process for articles begins with the sending of referee invitations to expert academics in the field, as determined by the section editors. Once the referees accept the invitations, the articles are put under review. The fact that the status appears as "peer review" does not mean the review process has begun.
- The Editorial Board makes its decision on the status of articles based on at least two qualified reviewer reports, considering the editor's opinion. If necessary, it may continue the peer review process by sending invitations to additional reviewers. Originality, contribution to literature and technology, presentation, narrative style, and consistency are essential requirements for the continuation of the evaluation process and acceptance for publication at the final decision stage.
- Articles for which no response is received to peer review invitations after one month are RETURNED to the authors by decision of the Editorial Board to prevent any inconvenience to the authors. Therefore, authors who decide to submit their articles to the Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences for evaluation are deemed to have accepted that their articles may be RETURNED after one month due to the reason stated above.
- During the article review process, documents (the article itself/revised versions, responses to reviewers, all of in .docx format) uploaded by authors to the DergiPark system should not contain any information (name-surname, institution) about the author(s). Furthermore, the footer of the uploaded files (in the "Relevant Persons" section on the right side of the screen when you click the "Information" tab under the "File" tab in the Word menu) should not contain any information about the author(s).
- Authors must ensure that the information (name, surname, institution) they enter the DergiPark system when submitting their articles matches the information they will use when the article is published. Furthermore, authors must be registered with DergiPark using their current information. For example, a name entered as "Cömert" or "Ayşe" during system login should not be changed to "Comert" or "Ayse" on the article after the acceptance stage to ensure English language compatibility. The initial entry into the system should be "Comert" or "Ayse". The information entered the DergiPark system is considered primary.
- Research articles can be written in Turkish or English, and their total length should not exceed 8000 words. Review articles, however, may only be written in English. The word count for review articles, excluding references, should be between 7500 and 20000 words (including figures and tables). The number of references must be at least 80, and at least 40% of the references must be from publications within the last seven years (from the date the article was submitted to the journal).
- Similarity reports for articles are generated and uploaded to the system by our journal; for research articles, the similarity thresholds are applied as 20% for the entire article and 3% for individual sentences. For review articles, the similarity thresholds are applied as 30% for the entire article and 5% for individual sentences. Articles that do not meet these thresholds are RETURNED to the authors without going through the peer review process. Therefore, authors are advised to check whether their articles meet the relevant thresholds before uploading them to the system.
- Authors may submit their articles for evaluation in a single-column format. For the publication of ACCEPTED articles after the evaluation process, authors are responsible for uploading their articles to the system in the format of the 📝 Article_Template_Accepted.docx created by the journal.
