Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to investigate the
perceptions of the transformational leadership qualities in the context of job
performances of female managers working in the food sector. Between February 2017 and April 2017, a questionnaire form
prepared and was applied to 77 women managers within the scope of 32 companies
operating in the food sector. As a
result of the research, it has been found that the women managers'
transformational leadership qualities have a positive effect on job
performance. These
qualities
are "to improve the participation level, to anticipate the future, to
perform team work, to become role models, to be impressive, to increase
communication quality, to increase the motivation, decision-making and
change-making. Transformational leadership, one of the modern leadership
approaches, can be distinguished by emphasizing commitment to organizational
goals, creating innovative solutions to problems, and developing employee
capacities. Transformational leadership qualities are thought to be in harmony
with the relational management style of women managers. In this context, female
managers think that their job performance is increasing.
