Öğretmenlerin Öz-yönetim ve Öz-kontrol ile Öz-liderlik Becerilerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, öğretmenlerin öz-yönetim ve öz-kontrol ile öz-liderlik becerileri arasındaki ilişkinin çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca en uygun yöntemin nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel tarama yöntemi olduğuna karar verilerek bu çalışma yürütülmüştür. Basit seçkisiz örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak Türkiye’deki bir ilde ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerde görev yapan 322 öğretmenden toplanan veriler kullanılmıştır. Veriler çoklu hiyerarşik regresyon analizi, t-testi ve ANOVA ile test edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öz-yönetim ve öz-kontrol becerileri, öz-liderlik becerilerinin anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin yaşı ilerledikçe kendini ödüllendirme ve kendi kendine konuşma davranışlarını daha az sergiledikleri; erkeklerin kadınlara göre kendini daha fazla cezalandırdığı; bunun yanında kadınların ise kendini ödüllendirme, kendine hatırlatıcılar belirleme, doğal ödül stratejileri, kendi kendine konuşma ve öz-liderlik becerilerini erkeklere göre daha fazla kullandığı; başka fakültelerde lisansüstü eğitim yapanların eğitim fakültesinde lisansüstü eğitim yapan ve lisansüstü eğitim yapmayan öğretmenlere göre daha başarılı performans hayal etme becerisine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.

An Investigation into Teachers’ Self-Management, Self-Control, and Self-Leadership Skills

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship among teachers’ self-management, self-control, and self-leadership skills in terms of various variables. The descriptive survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was employed in the study. The participants were recruited via a simple random sampling method and the data were collected from 322 teachers working in primary, secondary, and high schools in one of the provinces of Turkey. The data were analyzed using multiple hierarchical regression analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. The results have shown that self-management and self-control skills are significant predictors of self-leadership skills. The results have also indicated that as teachers get older, they exhibit less self-rewarding and self-talk behaviors, and male teachers punish themselves more than female teachers In addition, female teachers refer to self-rewarding and determine self-cueing, natural reward strategies, self-talk, and self-leadership skills more than male teachers. Finally, it has been found that the teachers with graduate education degrees in a faculty other than the faculty of education can imagine successful performance more than those with graduate education in the faculty of education and those not pursuing graduate education.
