Türkiye’de Ekonomi İçerikli Protestolar ve “Geçinemiyoruz” Eylemleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de 2021’in son çeyreğinde başlayan ve 2022’nin başlarında da devam eden, hayat pahalılığı, zamlar ve geçim tartışması üzerine yapılan eylemler, toplumsal hareketler olgusu etrafında analiz edilecektir. Çalışma, Eylül 2021-Şubat 2022 arasında açık (kamusal) alanda gerçekleşen eylem ve protestoların günlük olarak kaydedilmesine dayanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda eylem(i/yaptı/lar), protesto(su/etti/ler/edildi/eylemi) anahtar kelimeleri ile yapılan internet aramaları sonucunda ulaşılan 565 eylem (Eylül 75, Ekim 81, Kasım 106, Aralık 93, Ocak 78 ve Şubat 132) incelenmiştir. Eylemler içerisinde “geçinemiyoruz” sloganının hızlıca yayılmaya nedeniyle bütün eylemler içinde bu başlıkta ayrı bir kategorizasyon yapılmıştır. Çünkü önceki dönemlerde gerçekleşen kitlesel eylemlerden farklı biçimde, doğrudan hayatı etkileyen “geçim derdi/hayat pahalılığı” kavramını güçlendiren ve herkesin katılımına olanak sağlayan kapsayıcı bir çerçeve yaratılmıştır. Çalışmada, bu eylemlerin siyaset-ekonomi-sıradan insan arasındaki bağlantıları öne çıkardığı vurgulanacaktır. Yakın dönemde ekonomik kriz eksenli protestoların Avrupa başta olmak üzere pek çok yerde benzer içerikte olduğu da hatırlatılmalıdır. Bu eksen, Türkiye’deki toplumsal hareketlerin karar verme mekanizmalarındaki görece etkisizliğini ya da ikincil konumunu kıracak bir potansiyel içermektedir.

Economy-Oriented Protests and "We Can't Subsist On" Actions in Turkey

Abstract

In this study, the actions and protests on the cost of living, price hikes, and livelihood discussion, which began in the last quarter of 2021 and extended into the early months of 2022, will be examined through the context of social movements. The study is based on the recording of actions and protests that took place daily in open (public) spaces between September 2021 and December 2021. In this context, 565 actions (September 75, October 81, November 106, December 93, January 78, and February 132) found as a result of internet searches with the keywords action, protest, and protest action. It is noteworthy that the slogan "we can't subsist on" started to spread rapidly among the actions and that the actions in this direction reached a common line. This feature, unlike the mass actions that took place in previous decades, created an inclusive framework that allowed everyone to participate by reinforcing the concept of "subsistance concern", which is carried out in fewer numbers but more frequently and directly affects life. With the argument that slogans and actions that affect daily life are more effective and the recent protests based on the economic crisis continue in many places, especially in Europe, the chances of highlighting the connections between politics, the economy, and ordinary people increase. This axis also includes the potential to break the relative ineffectiveness or secondary position of social movements in the decision-making mechanisms in Turkey.
