Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Politik Ekonomik Kuram (PEK) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The ethical principles are outlined below for authors, reviewers, and editors.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Submitted manuscripts must be original and should not be under consideration elsewhere.
  • All authors listed should have made significant contributions to the work. Gift authorship is considered unethical.
  • Proper citation of sources and accurate referencing are mandatory.
  • In studies involving human or animal subjects, ethical approval must be obtained and clearly stated in the manuscript.
  • Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • The peer review process is confidential. Reviewers must not share manuscript details with third parties.
  • Reviews should be objective, constructive, and completed within the requested timeframe.
  • Reviewers must notify the editor if they feel unqualified to evaluate a particular submission.

Responsibilities of Editors and the Editorial Board

  • Publication decisions are based solely on academic merit and the journal’s editorial policy.
  • Editors must act impartially and avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Editors ensure that the peer review process is fair, transparent, and confidential.
  • Editors are responsible for issuing corrections, retractions, or clarifications when necessary.

Handling of Misconduct

In cases of suspected misconduct, the journal follows COPE’s flowcharts and guidelines, which are publicly available at https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Flowcharts.
