Abstract

At the beginning of second millennium, in X-XI centuries our region, including its northern part of
current Afghanistan, was one of the most developed in the world. Eventually the region has lost its
former positions. Period of collapse was preceded by the fall of Constantinople in 1453 under pressure
of Ottoman Empire which resulted in extinction of the Great Silk Way. Hundred thousand of craftsmen,
ten thousand of merchants had no job. And following them there were thousand scientists and
cultural figures serving the needs of actively developed society.
The large number and exclusive height of mountain systems of the region determine its lower natural
transit capacity. In order to overcome transit resistance of mountains of the region, the large number of capital is required which the region does not have. It is difficult but it is possible to build roads
within the mountains. It is much difficult to construct roads through the mountains, i.e. provide transit.
Evolution of communications looks as follows: on foot-horse ride-seaborne-railroad-automobileaviation-pipeline-power
line-electronic. Essentially, Kyrgyzstan and countries in the region have missed
coal civilization stage with its infrastructure in the form of railroads and factories. We skipped (thanks
to soviet authority) from wood directly to oil civilization.
