The purpose of this study is to determine recreation activities that are preferred by university staff and to examine body composition and general health status of the staff. In accordance with this purpose, staff of Sakarya University‘s assigned positions and body fat ratios was researched, also relation between leisure time and recreation activities that are preferred by them was examined. The scale which was used in the study was developed as a result of literature review. In the study, data was obtained one to one by applying Body Composition Monitor – body analyser – scales and survey to 315 academic and administrative staff. The universe of this study comprises academic and administrative staff working at Sakarya University. Obtained data was analysed by using statistical methods. Relation was confirmed between recreation activities preferred by university staff and body fat ratio as a result. Therewithal it was understood that the staff do not exercise often and majority of the staff prefer recreation activities that are less active. Accordingly it was determined that body fat ratio of the university staff are high
