Comparative Theology as a New Approach to Religious Other

Abstract

This article aims to introduce comparative theology to Turkish reader. Comparative theology has recently been reformulated as an academic discipline in the West in the last couple of decades, which intends to learn from other religions. While introducing comparative theology, this article also has questioned the place of this subject within Christian theology. From this perspective, it has questioned and sought to answer such controversial issues whether comparative theology is an alternative to theology of religions, or comparative theology is an independent theological branch, or comparative theology is one form of theology of religions. Eventually, this article claims that comparative theology cannot be seen as an alternative to theology of religions, nor it can be seen as a particular form of theology of religions but rather comparative theology and theology of religions can be considered two distinct areas but also completing each other.

DİNİ ÖTEKİNE YENİ BİR YAKLAŞIM OLARAK KARŞILAŞTIRMALI TEOLOJİ
