Journal of Academic Sirah is the official journal of KSU Sirah Researches Application and Research Center. The main purpose of the journal is to publish scientific studies in religious sciences, social sciences and humanities. Publications are welcomed from all fields suitable for making in social sciences and having perspective comments in this direction.
Journal of Academic Sirah accepts applications from a wide range of countries, although it is the publication of a research and application center operating at a regional university. Our journal is a specific journal and publishes articles related to Sirah, book critiques, symposium papers from Sirah and other fields.

Journal of Academic Sirah is a peer-reviewed journal published at least twice a year in January and June. Article acceptance dates, for the issue dated 1 January, it is 1 July - 1 November; for the issue dated 30 June, it is 2 January - 30 April. Acceptance of translations and book reviews, for the issue dated January 1, it is 1 July – 15 November; for the issue dated 30 June, it is 2 January - 15 May.
1. Page Layout:
The articles should be placed on A4 size paper with all margins 2 cm.
2. Font:
The titles and texts should be written in the Book Antiqua font, the titles should be bold and 12 points, the texts should be written in 11 points; the Abstract’s title should be and 11 points; the it’s texts should be written in 10 points.
3. Paragraph Format:
Line spacing of textual content should be multiple, 1.25, before and after 6 pt, first line 0.7 cm and justified. As an exception, the texts in the bibliography should be set as 0.7 cm hanging; the texts in the abstract and abstract should be set as single line spacing, before and after 6 nk, and 0 for the first line.
4. Titles:
Inner titles should be created by enumerating in a decimal way such as "1., 1.1., 1.1.1.". First-level titles must be all uppercase, second, third, and fourth-level titles must be first-letter uppercase, line spacing multiple,1.25, before and after 6 nk, first-line 0.7 cm and justified. As an exception, the titles of Abstract should be capitalize, the first line should be 0. Bibliography title should be set first line 0.
As an exception, in the second, third, and fourth-level titles all appendices such as and, with, to, of must always be lowercase.
Introduction, Conclusion and Bibliography titles are not numbered and all are capitalized.
5. Footnotes:
Book Antique font, 10 points, line spacing should be single, before and after 0, hanging 0.3 cm, left -0.3 cm indented and justified.
The form rules of the second edition of the ISNAD citation system should be observed in the references in the footnotes.
6. Citations:
Double quotes should be used in citations given in the text, single quotes should be used in citations within citations.
Citations given by carriage return should have 1 cm right and left indentation, one line spacing, and the first line 0.
7. Figures and Tables:
Figures and Tables should be given in the text. The name of the figures should be below the figure; the name of the table should be above the table. Figure and table expressions (such as Figure 1., Table 1. ) should be given in bold and 11 points. It should not be given separately at the end of the study.
Line spacing in shapes and tables should be single and before and after, 0 nk.
8. Bibliography
References should be given on a separate page under the heading “bibliography” after the notes, if any. In the bibliography, the form rules of the second edition of the ISNAD citation system should be followed.
9. Appendix:
Each appendix should be on a separate page after the Bibliography.
10. Other Issues:
Headers, footers, and page numbers should not be added.
The author's name, title, institution information and ORCID identification number should not be added to the article.
Journal of Academic Sirah, is the publication of the KSU Sirah Researches Application and Research Center. Journal of Academic Sirah aims to contribute to the development of accounting and finance science by publishing national and international studies in the field of accounting and finance. For this purpose, Journal of Academic Sirah, considering the production, development and sharing of scientific information in an objective manner. All stakeholders must comply with ethical principles. The ethical task and responsibilities below, has been prepared taking into account the guidelines and policies, published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as “Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors”.
According to the articles of the TR Index criteria regarding the ethical rules, "In studies requiring an ethical committee permit, it is necessary to include information about the permit in the article". If these permits are required, it should be clearly presented from which institution, on what date and with which decision or number.
EDITOR’S ETHIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Editor of the Journal of Academic Sirah, fulfills duties and responsibilities below based on the “COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” published by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as an open access.
General Tasks and Responsibilities
The editor carries the following duties and responsibilities:
Strives to meet the information needs of readers and writers.
Ensures the continuous development of the magazine.
Carries out processes to improve the quality of the articles published in the journal.
Supports freedom of expression.
Preserves the integrity of the journal's academic past.
Continues its business processes without compromising intellectual property rights and ethical standards.
Does not hesitate to issue corrections, explanations, withdrawals and apologies when necessary.
Relationship with Readers
The editor informs readers about who financed the research, whether funders have a role in the research and publication process. In addition, the editor is obliged to ensure that all published articles should be examined by qualified referees.
Relationship with Writers
The duties and responsibilities of the editor towards the authors are as follows:
The editor decides on the importance, originality, validity of an article that is submitted for publication and the suitability of the journal in the subject matter of the journal in a positive or negative way.
The editor sends the articles to the pre-evaluation stage, which gave positive decision and sends them to the related referees.
The editor does not change the recommendations of the referee positively unless there is a serious problem with the article.
The editor definitely publishes the "Blind Review and Evaluation Process" and explains the reason for any deviations from this process.
The editor provides authors with informative and informative feedback and feedback.
Relationship with Referees
The duties and responsibilities of the editor towards the referees are as follows:
The editor determines the referees in accordance with the subject of the study.
The editor is obliged to provide the “article evaluation form” that the referees will need during the article evaluation phase.
The editor must look for any conflict of interest between the authors and the reviewers.
The editor must keep the referees identity information confidential in accordance with the “Blind Review and Evaluation Process”.
The editor should encourage the referees to evaluate working in a neutral, scientific and objective language.
The editor should determine practices and policies that increase the performance of the referees.
The editor should prevent unkind and unscientific reviews.
The editor should take the necessary steps to dynamically update the referee pool.

Relationship with Editorial Board Members
The duties and responsibilities of the editor towards the editorial board members are as follows:
The editor should offer new board members guidance on everything expected from them, and inform former members about new developments and policies.
The editor should identify appropriate qualified editorial board members for the review of the reviewer without prejudice, which will contribute to the good management and development of the journal.
The editor should establish appropriate policies to evaluate the articles from the editorial board members.
The editorial board should regularly review its composition.
The editor should take the opinions of the members of the editorial board regarding the management of the journal, report the changes in the journal's policies and organize regular meetings to plan for the future.
Relationship with Publishing Board Members
The editor should ensure that the publishing board members advance their journal processes in accordance with their editorial policies and guidelines. The publishing board should be informed about the editorial policies and inform the developments. In addition;
The editor should ensure that members of the publishing board evaluate their work impartially and independently.
The editor should make sure that the new publishing board members will contribute to the journal and that it is of a suitable nature.
The editor should send the publishing board suitable works for evaluation.
The editor should regularly interact with the publishing board.
The editor should hold meetings with the publishing board periodically for the development of editorial policies and the journal.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD
The Editorial Board of Journal of Academic Sirah (Hereinafter, the "Editorial Board") and Editors / Assistant Editors are responsible for each article submitted to Journal of Academic Sirah.
The Editorial Board ensures that journal policies such as publication, blind reviewing, evaluation process and ethical principles are determined and implemented.
Inclusion of the article in the reviewing process by the Editorial Board does not mean a publication commitment. Even if the reviewing process for publication results in a positive result, the decision of the Editorial Board and the Editors / Assistant Editors is definitely required.
Editorial Board encourages academic honesty. The Editorial Board ensures the originality of the written works by checking these works before publication through the plagiarism prevention program.
The Editorial Board always examines the plagiarism and abuse claims regarding the published articles. For example, if an author has plagiarized his article from other studies, has used third party copyright material without permission or incomplete reporting in cases where permission is required, the Editorial Board reserves the rights to retracte the article, to take various actions such as reporting the issue to the head of the department, dean and / or relevant academic boards at the institution where the author works.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF REFEREES
In the article evaluation process of the Journal of Academic Sirah, the principle of two-way blind refereeing is applied in which the authors and the referees do not know each other. The referees cannot directly communicate with the authors, the article evaluation forms and the notes specified in the text and correction requests are forwarded to the authors by the editors through the journal management system. The referees who will evaluate the articles sent to the Journal of Academic Sirah should bear the following ethical responsibilities:
Referees should agree to evaluate only articles related to their area of expertise.
Referees should make the assessment in neutrality and confidentiality.
Referees should make the assessment objectively only in relation to the content of the study. Nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs, and commercial concerns must not influence the evaluation.
Referees should refuse to evaluate the article and inform the editors when they understand that there is a conflict of interest / unity of interest.
Referees should make the assessment in a constructive language in accordance with academic manner and avoid insulting personal comments.
Referees should carry out the article they accepted to evaluate on time and in accordance with the ethical principles above.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF WRITERS
Authors who submit articles to the Journal of Academic Sirah should bear the following ethical responsibilities:
Articles submitted to the journal should not be published elsewhere or submitted for publication.
The authors should have cited all the citations they used in their articles.
Authors should ensure that they contribute scientifically to the article.
The results included in the articles should be presented clearly and honestly, without fabricated, incorrect and inappropriate data manipulation.
Authors should ensure that the article does not contain plagiarism and is their own work.
All of the article authors have equal responsibility for ethical principles.
The names of researhers who contributed to the article and were willing to be called co-authors should be included in the article.
Authors should provide access to the datasets in the article, if deemed necessary.
The authors are expected to make the corrections specified in the referee reports on time.
Actions against science research and publication ethics are as follows:
a) Plagiarism: Presenting the ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures or works of others as their own work, in whole or in part, without attribution in accordance with scientific rules,
b) Fraud: To produce data that is not based on research, to edit or change the presented or published work on the basis of untrue data, to report or publish these, to present an unstudied research as if it has been done,
c) Distortion: To falsify research records and obtained data, to present methods, devices and materials that are not used in the research as if they were used, not to evaluate the data that are not suitable for the research hypothesis, to manipulate the data and/or results in order to fit the relevant theory or assumptions, falsifying or shaping research results in their own interests,
d) Republishing: To present more than one work containing the same results of a research as separate works in associate professor examination evaluations and academic promotions,
e) Slicing: Presenting the results of a research as separate works in the evaluations of associate professorship exams and in academic promotions by dividing the results of a research in a way that violates the integrity of the research, by dividing it into parts inappropriately, and by making multiple publications without reference to each other,
f) Unfair authorship: Including people who do not contribute actively among the authors, not including those who contribute actively among the authors, changing the order of authors unjustifiably and inappropriately, removing the names of those who contributed actively from the work at the time of publication or in subsequent editions; to include his name among the authors,
g) Other types of ethical violations: Not clearly stating the supporting persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions in the publications of the research carried out with support, not complying with the ethical rules in research on humans and animals, not respecting the rights of patients in their publications, to share the information contained in the work with others before it is published, to misuse the resources, places, facilities and devices provided or reserved for scientific research, to accuse completely baseless, groundless and intentional ethical violations (YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive, Article 8).
“Ethics committee approval must be obtained separately for research in all branches of science, including Social Sciences, and for studies on clinical and experimental humans and animals requiring an ethical committee decision, this approval must be specified and documented in the article.” “Ethical committee approval” should be sent for articles uploaded to our system after January 1, 2020 and containing quantitative / qualitative field research and survey applications. Articles without ethics committee approval will not be accepted and will be removed from the process at any stage.
Reporting of the Situation That Does Not Follow Ethical Principles to the Editor

PUBLICATION POLICY
1. Journal of Academic Sirah is a peer-reviewed journal published at least twice a year in January and June. Article, translation and book review acceptance dates, for the issue dated 1 January, it is 1 July - 31 October; for the issue dated 30 June, it is 2 January - 30 April.
2. Journal of Academic Sirah evaluates the scientific and original articles, translations, book criticism and criticism which have a direct or indirect relationship with the Sirah science, written by authors who continue their doctoral studies or have the title of doctor.
3. Articles submitted to the journal must not be published elsewhere or entered into the publishing process.
4. The journal consists of three main sections: a) peer-reviewed articles b) letter to the editor c) non-peer-reviewed articles.
5. The articles should be written in Turkish or English.
6. The articles should be prepared in accordance with our writing rules and publication ethics and sent to our journal through the dergipark system. If the submitted study is a paper presented previously or produced from the thesis, this must be stated in the article.
7. For processing the articles produced from paper, it is necessary to fill in the system by filling in a wet signed undertaking by author as “My work hasn’t been published or will not be published.”
8. Articles submitted to Journal of Academic Sirah should not exceed 35 pages, including bibliography and figures/tables. The lower word limit of articles is 3500.
9. Articles submitted for publication in the journal are subject to the preliminary control of the Editorial Board. The articles are scanned at this stage through the iThenticate plagiarism detection program.
10. Too many spelling errors and non-compliance with scientific requirements will be considered sufficient for the article to be rejected during the preliminary control process. Articles that do not comply with the publication principles will not be included in the peer review process.
11. The articles that pass the editorial board preliminary control are sent to at least two referees recommended by the board for the purpose of supervising scientific competence. The authors are not informed about the identities of the referees who evaluate the article, and the referees are not informed about who the article belongs to (blind review).
12. The articles are published in a number deemed appropriate by the Editorial Board by taking into consideration the positive reports from the referee after the evaluation. If both referees express a negative opinion, the article is not published. In the case of the one of the reports is negative or the refereeing reports are deemed insufficient or unsatisfactory by the Editorial Board, the final decision upon publication of the article shall be made in accordance with the decision of a third arbitrator or at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
13. Authors of rejected articles are informed about the process. In this case, the author cannot make any claims regarding the non-publication of the article.
14. Articles that comply with our publication principles and type and are decided to be published are included in the publication process. Each issue is limited to 10 research articles, 2 translations, 2 letters to the editor, and 2 book reviews. The articles that are decided to be published are accepted to the related issue of the journal according to the date of arrival as a general principle.
15. At most one study of an author (copyright or translation) can be published in an issue.
16. Article application fee is not charced from the author.
17. There is no charge for published articles.
18. No royalties are paid to the authors of published articles.
19. All publication rights of the articles published in the Journal of Academic Sirah belong to KSU Sirah Researches Application and Research Center. Published articles, in whole or in part, may not be printed, reproduced, or moved to electronic media without the permission of the publisher.
20. In accordance with the 6th article of the Universities Publication Guideline, authors have scientific and legal responsibilities of their articles. Journal of Academic Sirah Editorial Board is not responsible for the opinions expressed in the articles.
21. Journal of Academic Sirah stipulates that the second edition of ISNAD citation system should be used in citation and bibliography writing. This condition does not apply to translation articles, footnotes and bibliography are not interfered with. 22. Abstract should be written in single paragraph format and should be between 100-300 words and should not contain any citations. Each abstract should contain 5 keywords describing the study. The selected words should be compatible with the content of the article and should be inclusive.
23. The article should have abstract, (if any) introduction, main text, conclusion, bibliography, and (if any) appendices respectively.
24. The authority to decide on matters not mentioned here belongs to the Editorial Board of Journal of Academic Sirah.
Journal of Academic Sirah has adopted the free access of scientific outputs to humanity as a policy. It does not charge any fee from article authors.
