The aim of this study was to determine the muscular
strength and functional strength asymmetries
(Hamstring (Hms):Quadriceps (Qua), dominant
leg (DL) Qua:non-dominant leg (NDL) Qua and DL
Hms:NDL Hms) of professional soccer players (n=
32, age=24,4??3,83 years, height=181,3??5,99 cm,
weight=78,1??5,85 kg, bmi=23,71??1,02) who will join
the pre-season training period by using the isokinetic
tests at 60º/s and 180º/s speeds. The Humac Norm
Testing & Rehabilitation System (Humac Manufacturers,
Stoughton, MA, USA) was used to determine the
DL and NDL peak torque. Descriptive statistics were
used for evaluations. NDL Qua peak torque values
according to DL Qua peak torque values at speed
of 60º/s and 180º/s, DL Hms peak torque values according
to NDL Hms peak torque values at speed of
60º/s and NDL Hms peak torque values according to
DL Hms peak torque values at speed of 180º/s were
higher, but these values took place in the expected ??
10% percentiles. DL Hms: Qua differences according
to NDL Hms: Qua differences were determined higher
at speed of 60º/s and180º/s but also these values
took place in the expected 2:3 ratio. Obtained peak
torque values in this study were lower according to
obtained peak torque values in literature but there
were any muscle strength and functional muscle
strength asymmetries according to obtained values.
Geliş tarihi:
As a consequence, it is necessary preparing a wellplanned
end-season program to develop the lower peak
torque Qua and Hms values of soccer players.
