Open Access Policy

Open Access is the free online availability of scientific research with minimal restrictions on reuse. The unrestricted dissemination of research is of critical importance to authors, readers, researchers, and funding institutions.

The concept of open access encompasses "Gratis Open Access," which refers to access to content without cost, and "Libre Open Access," which provides free access alongside clearly defined user rights. The Sosyal Çalışma Dergisi strictly adheres to the principles of Libre Open Access, advocating for knowledge to be open, transparent, and reproducible.

The journal management believes that for open access to function effectively, copyright ownership should be retained by the author and user rights must be secured through standard licensing.

Accordingly, all articles published in the Sosyal Çalışma Dergisi are made available in open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. Authors retain the copyright of their articles and grant the journal the right to publish under this license. The full texts of published articles can be accessed instantly, free of charge, and continuously via the journal archive.

Under the CC BY-NC 4.0 License, Readers are Free to:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material.

Under the Following Terms:

  • Attribution: You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
  • NonCommercial: You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
  • No Additional Restrictions: You may not apply legal terms or technological measures (e.g., encryption, DRM) that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
