Archive Policy

The Turkish Journal of Social Work sends the articles it publishes to electronic archives based on open access without requiring any action from the author(s) and makes them fully accessible. The author or the funding organization can upload a copy of the author's accepted article to archive sites.

The Turkish Journal of Social Work's author license allows reuse by citing the article's source (with a full citation) only for non-commercial use.

The Turkish Journal of Social Work commits to keeping all its articles open access under the CC-BY-NC Creative Commons license and to storing the full-text content on archive platforms and its own website.

  1. Articles published in the Journal of Social Work are digitally archived in LOCKSS. Additionally, published articles can be made accessible without any embargo period in the institutional repository (DSpace, AVESİS, etc.) of the university where the author works, in subject-specific archives, or any other archive. This allows everyone to access the publication immediately and free of charge.
  2. The Turkish Journal of Social Work permits authors to use the final published version of an article for self-archiving (author's personal website, social media accounts) and/or for archiving in an institutional repository (DSpace, AVESİS, etc.) after publication.
  3. Authors can self-archive their articles in public and/or commercial subject-based archives. There is no embargo period, but the published source must be indicated, and a link to the journal's homepage or the DOI of the articles should be provided.
  4. Authors and readers can download the article's PDF file.
  5. The Turkish Journal of Social Work uses the LOCKSS system to allow the creation of permanent archives. The LOCKSS program, based on Stanford University Libraries, offers award-winning, low-cost, open-source digital preservation tools to ensure permanent and authoritative access to digital content for libraries and publishers. The LOCKSS program is a library-led digital preservation system built on the principle of "Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe." It develops and supports libraries using open-source, end-to-end digital preservation software.
