KİŞİLİK TİPLERİNİN SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR TÜKETİM DAVRANIŞLARI ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Year 2019, Volume: 24 Issue: 2, 159 - 169, 30.04.2019

Abstract

A RESEARCH ON SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION BEHAVIORS OF PERSONALITY TYPES

Year 2019, Volume: 24 Issue: 2, 159 - 169, 30.04.2019

Abstract

Social, ecological and economic deformations are increasing due to increased consumption from day to day in favor of a better quality of life. While providing a better quality of life cycle, concepts such as environmental awareness, frugal behavior, increase in awareness, and alternative creation concept have improved the sustainable consumption trend. However, one of the requirements for the development of sustainable consumption behavior is to consider future results and to feel responsibility. Despite the fact that in literature the relationship between personality and concepts which are mentioned, is investigated but no research has been conducted to investigate the relationship between personality type and future / immediate results.
The purpose of this research is to determine whether the personality structure that cares about future outcomes and the personality structure that cares about immediate results differentiate individuals' sustainable consumption behaviors.
At the end of the research, it was determined that those who care about future outcomes have more savings, less needless buying behavior, and those who care about instant results show less saving and more needless purchasing behavior.
Obtained results will help to explain the sustainable consumption behavior of the two-person structure. In addition, the influence of personality structures for the development of community consciousness will be understood more clearly.
