Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırmada, Vital pulpa tedavisi (VPT) konusunda yapılan çalışmaların yayın performansı ve eğilimlerini bibliyometrik bir bakış açısıyla incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: 5 Ekim 2024 tarihinde, ‘All Fields’ seçeneğinde ‘Pulp capping’ OR ‘Pulpotomy’ OR ‘Vital pulp therapy’ OR ‘VPT’ anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak Web of Science (WoS) taraması yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya sadece ‘Article’ türündeki yayınlar dahil edilmiştir. WoS kategorisi ‘Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Medicine’ ve WoS indeksi ‘Science Citation Index Expanded’ filtreleri ile sınırlandırıldığında 1980-2024 yılları arasında yayımlanmış 1138 makale elde edilmiştir. Çalışmaların verileri WoS üzerinden ‘BibTeX’ formatında indirilmiş, Biblioshiny yazılımı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Bu konuda 4084 yazarın araştırma yaptığı, 1577 anahtar kelimenin kullanıldığı, makalelerin toplamda 54 dergi kaynağı kullandığı, %6,32 yıllık büyüme oranı ile 1138 makalenin yayımlandığı görülmüştür. Makalelerin çoğunluğunun ‘Journal of Endodontics’ dergisinde yayımlandığı, bu alanda en çok yayına sahip olan ülkenin Amerika Birleşik Devletleri (ABD) olduğu görülmüştür. Bu konuda yazarlar tarafından en sık kullanılan anahtar kelimeler arasında ‘pulpotomy’ yer almıştır. Sonuç: Pozitif yöndeki yıllık büyüme oranı bu konuya olan ilginin arttığını göstermektedir. ‘Journal of Endodontics’ dergisi bu konuda lider dergi konumundadır. Bu araştırma, konuya dair kapsamlı bir literatür taraması sunarak, bu alanda gelecekte gerçekleştirilecek çalışmalar için sağlam bir temel oluşturmakta ve araştırmacılara yeni ve özgün çalışma konuları önererek, VPT’nin farklı yönlerinin incelenmesine yönelik potansiyel araştırma alanlarını ortaya koymaktadır. Böylece, hem teorik hem de uygulamalı bağlamda önemli bir referans kaynağı sunulmuş olmaktadır.

Bibliometric Analysis of Articles Published on Vital Pulp Therapy: Methodological Studies

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the publication performance and trends of research on Vital pulp therapy (VPT) from a bibliometric perspective.: Materials and Methods A Web of Science (WoS) search was conducted on October 5, 2024, using the keywords ‘Pulp capping’ OR ‘Pulpotomy’ OR ‘Vital pulp therapy’ OR ‘VPT’ ‘under the ‘All Fields’ option. Only articles of the ‘Article’ type were included in the study. The WoS category was limited to ‘Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Medicine,’ and the WoS index was fitlered using ‘Science Citation Index Expanded,’ resulting in a total of 1138 articles published between 1980 and 2024. The data of the studies were downloaded in ‘BibTeX’ format from WoS andanalyzed using Biblioshiny software. Results: It was found that 4084 authors contributed to the research in this field, 1577 keywords were used, and 54 journal sources were referenced. A total of 1138 articles were published with an annual growth rate of 6.32%. The majority of the articles were published in the Journal of Endodontics, with the United States being the leading country in terms of publication volume. The most frequently used keywords by authors in this field included ‘pulpotomy’ Conclusion: The positive growth rate reflects increased interest in this subject. The Journal of Endodontics is a leading publication in this field. This research provides a thorough literature review, establishing a solid foundation for future studies and suggesting new research topics, emphasizing key areas for exploring VPT. Therefore, it serves as an essential reference in both theoretical and practical contexts.
