Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulu Öğrencilerinde Algılanan Aile Desteği ile Kariyer Kararlılığı İlişkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırma, sağlık hizmetleri meslek yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören ön lisans öğrencilerinde algılanan aile desteği ile kariyer kararlılığı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemeyi ve algılanan aile desteğinin kariyer kararlılığını ne düzeyde yordadığını test etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Ayrıca kariyer kararlılığı puanlarının cinsiyet, yaş grubu, sınıf düzeyi, öğrenim görülen program, anne-baba eğitim düzeyi ve ailenin sosyoekonomik düzeyine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı değerlendirilmiştir. Yöntem: Nicel araştırma yaklaşımına dayalı ilişkisel tarama modelinde yürütülen çalışmaya bir devlet üniversitesinin sağlık hizmetleri meslek yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören 531 öğrenci katılmıştır. Veriler, Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Algılanan Aile Desteği Ölçeği (20 madde) ve Kariyer Kararlılığı Ölçeği (6 madde) ile toplanmıştır. Veriler, SPSS 23.0 programında betimsel istatistikler, Pearson korelasyon, basit doğrusal regresyon, bağımsız örneklem t-testi ve tek yönlü ANOVA ile analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Algılanan aile desteği ile kariyer kararlılığı arasında pozitif yönlü, zayıf düzeyde ve anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur (r=0.147,p<0.01). Algılanan aile desteği kariyer kararlılığının anlamlı bir yordayıcısıdır ve varyansın %2,1’ini açıklamaktadır (R²=0.021,p=0.001). Birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin kariyer kararlılığı puanları ikinci sınıflardan anlamlı düzeyde yüksektir (p=0.005). Diğer sosyodemografik değişkenlere göre anlamlı farklılık saptanmamıştır (p>0.05). Sonuç: Araştırmanın temel sonuçlarından biri, algılanan aile desteğinin öğrencilerin kariyer kararlarını netleştirmede olumlu ancak sınırlı bir katkı sunduğunu göstermesidir. Bunun yanı sıra, sınıf düzeyine bağlı farklılaşma, eğitim süreci ilerledikçe kariyer kararlılığının zayıflayabildiğine işaret etmektedir. Bu bulgu, özellikle mezuniyet aşamasına yaklaşan öğrencilerin mesleki geleceklerine ilişkin belirsizlik yaşayabildiklerini düşündürmekte ve eğitim sürecinin ileri evrelerinde karar netliğini sürdürmeye yönelik destekleyici kariyer rehberliği uygulamalarının önemini vurgulamaktadır.

The Relationship Between Perceived Family Support and Career Decidedness among Vocational School of Health Services Students

Abstract

Objective: This study examined the relationship between perceived family support and career decidedness among associate degree students enrolled in a Vocational School of Health Services and tested the extent to which perceived family support predicts career decidedness. It also investigated whether career decidedness differs by gender, age group, grade level, program, parental education, and perceived socioeconomic status. Methods: Using a quantitative correlational design, the study included 531 students from a state university’s Vocational School of Health Services. Data were collected via a Personal Information Form, the Perceived Family Support Scale (20 items), and the Career Decidedness Scale (6 items). Analyses were conducted in SPSS 23.0 using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Results: Perceived family support was positively and significantly associated with career decidedness (r=0.147,p<.001). Regression results showed that perceived family support significantly predicted career decidedness, explaining 2.1% of the variance (R²=0.021,p=0.001). First-year students reported significantly higher career decidedness than second-year students (p=0.005). No significant differences were found for other sociodemographic variables (p>0.05). Conclusion: One of the main findings of the study is that perceived family support makes a positive yet limited contribution to helping students clarify their career decisions. In addition, differences by class level indicate that career decidedness may weaken as the educational process progresses. This finding suggests that students approaching graduation may experience uncertainty about their professional future and underscores the importance of supportive career guidance practices aimed at sustaining decision clarity in the later stages of education.
