Özet

Ortodontik tedavi olmak amacıyla kliniklere başvuran hasta populasyonunun incelenmesi, klinik ihtiyaçlarının bu bulgulara göre düzenlenmesi açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada kliniğimize başvuran hasta populasyonunda maloklüzyon dağılımının yanısıra, başvurdukları iller, bağlı oldukları kurum ve öngörülen tedavi planlamaları incelenmiştir. Maloklüzyon tipleri Angle sınıflamasına göre belirlenmiştir. Çalışmamızın materyalini, Ocak 2002 ve Kasım 2004 tarihleri arasında Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Dişhekimliği Fakültesi Ortodonti Kliniğine başvuran 2844 hasta oluşturmaktadır (1662 kız, 1182 erkek). Bireylerin ortalama yaşı 13.26. dır. Araştırmamızın sonuçlarına göre kliniğimize başvuran hastaların çoğunluğunun Antalya.dan geldiği (%42.83), hastaların en çok Emekli Sandığına bağlı olduğu (%48.35),

çoğunda Angle Sınıf I maloklüzyon bulunduğu (%65.65) ve en yüksek oranda sabit tedavi öngörüldüğü (%72.08) tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract



Evaluation of a population referred for orthodontic treatment

Evaluation of patients referred for orthodontic treatment is of great importance for planning an ortodontic service. This study investigated social incurences, the cities where the patients referred from and treatment alternatives as well as distribution of malocclusions in a referred population. The material of the study was composed of 2844 (1662 girls, 1182 boys) patients referred to the Department of Orthodontics, Suleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Dentistry between January 2002 and November 2004. Mean age of the subjects was 13.26 years. According to our results, patients were referred mostly from Antalya. Most of the patients had social insurance from Emekli Sandığı. Angle Class I was the most frequently seen malocclusion type and most common treatment alternative was the fixed orthodontic treatment.
