Determination of Vegetation and Forage Quality in Intraforest Rangelands of Ağlasun

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effects of different tree frequencies on forage yield and quality in Ağlasun black pine (Pinus nigra Arn. subsp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe) forests in 2012. The study area was seperated into three different rangeland sites (uncovered rangeland site, sparse rangeland site and covered rangeland site). Green yield, hay yield, crude protein ratio, ADF, NDF ratios, total digestible nutrient and relative feed values were investigated in this research. According to results, the green and hay yield was decreased, crude protein ratio and RFV values were increased, TDN values, ADF and NDF ratios were unchanged from uncovered rangeland site to covered rangeland site.
