The Standards for Becoming a Teacher
Abstract
Teaching profession is different from the
other professions. Because, its output is human, and human is the most precious
creature in the world. That is why, some standards should be defined for the
people who will do this profession both during the entrance to bachelor’s
degree and and beginning of their profession. When current conditions for
becoming a teacher are studied, it can be seen that everybody can easily do
this job. However, when other professions are studied, it can be seen that
there are some suitable professional criteria for those professions. There are
no standards while entering to the bachelor’s degree for the ones that will
choose becoming a teacher. Any individuals getting enough score for the
departments of teacher training from the university entrance exam get the right
to enter those programs. Just regarding cognitive skills and not taking
affective skills into consideration may cause very serious handicaps for the
profession in the future. There can be seen some teachers who make child abuse,
harassment and violence when newspapers are studied. There are no standards
