The Use of the Aegean Region Folk Literature to Turkish Curriculum (2017) Themes

Abstract

The Turkish course aims to transform the individual into a carrier of Turkish culture. Folk literature   products, which have an important place in terms of Turkish language and culture, draw attention with its rich products within the Aegean region. It is the aim of this research to make scientific suggestions for the use of Aegean folk literature products in the Turkish Education in the context of 2017 Turkish Education Curriculum themes, and to raise awareness in terms of other studies to be done in the field. The method of study is descriptive analysis. Yıldırım and Şimşek (2008) describe the method of descriptive analysis as organizing and interpreting the findings. In this study, examples of the folk literature products belonging to the Aegean region were evaluated in terms of the themes of 2017 Turkish Lesson Curriculum. Suggestions on the appropriateness of the use of the Aegean region folk literature products for Turkish education in terms of the 2017 Turkish Lesson Curriculum themes, were introduced.
