Türk popülasyonunda stafne kemik kisti prevalansı: Retrospektif çalışma

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, panoramik radyografi ve KIBT
kullanılarak popülasyonumuzdaki Stafne kemik kavitesinin (SKK) yaş, cinsiyet ve
lokalizasyonu (sağ/sol) ile ilgili insidansını belirlemektir. 

Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çeşitli sebeplerden dolayı kliniğimize başvuran 3141 hastanın KIBT
ve panoramik görüntüleri retrospektif olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Hastalar
posterior ve anterior SKK vakası olarak iki gruba ayrıldı. Posterior yerleşimli
vakalar ise lingual posterior, lingual ramus ve bukkal ramus olmak üzere 3 alt
gruba ayrılmıştır. Yaş, cinsiyet, lokalizasyon ve SKK arasındaki ilişki
belirlenmiştir.

Bulgular: İncelenen tüm hastalarda toplam 20 SKK (13 erkek, 7 kadın) tespit
edilmiştir. Bunlardan 1 tanesi anterior yerleşimli (% 0.03), diğerleri
posterior yerleşimlidir (% 0.6). Hastaların defektleri on birinin sağda, geri
kalanının solda bulunmaktadır. Popülasyonumuz için SKK prevalansı % 0.63 olarak
bulunmuştur.

Sonuç: Genellikle, SKK'nin tedavisi radyografik takip ve konservatif tedavidir.
KIBT, daha az radyasyonla bu gibi lezyonların teşhis ve takibi için güçlü ve
güvenilir bir yöntem olabilir.
