The Possiblities for Drainage Water Reuse Under Conditions of Constructed Subsurface Drainage Systems in Konya Plain

Abstract

This study was conducted to estimate the probable effects of the subsurface drainage systems on salt leaching and envi-ronmental in Konya Plain. It was monitored and determined drain flows and salt loads of two collector drain along irrigation season for four years. Salt loads in drainage water increased lightly at the end of the irrigation season because of the drainage and ground waters that have high salinity content was used in irrigation. It was revealed that drainage water salinity varied irrigation water salinity that used in irrigation. When drainage water used in irrigation the present deep percolation will be enough to enable the suitable salt balance in soil profile.
