Determination of High Yielding and Quality of Barley Genotypes in Konya Conditions

Abstract

This research was carried out with aiming to determine yield and some quality parameters of 16 barley genotypes (5 varieties and 11 lines) in the growing period of 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 in Konya-Center and Çumra location in randomized complete block design with 2 replicates. Grain yield, 1000 kernel weight, cellulose content, protein content and protein yield were evaluated in this research. According to the results including two years and four location aver-ages ranged between; grain yield 257-381 kg/da, thousand kernel weight 38.30-43.17 g, protein content 11.08-12.15 %, protein yield 28.97-42.90 kg/ha and cellulose content 5.22 % - 6.47 %. There were significant differences in tested characters among barley genotypes. Also the genetic and enviromental effects on these properties were examined statis-tically. Correlations among yield and quality traits changed under different locations.
