Fumonisin B1 İçeren Rasyona Kekik Uçucu Yağı İlavesinin Japon Bıldırcınlarının (Coturnix coturnix japonica) Performans Özelliklerine Etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışma, fumonisin B1 (FB1) içeren rasyonlara kekik uçucu yağı (KUY) ilavesinin Japon bıldırcınlarının performans özelliklerine etkilerini belirlemek için yürütülmüştür. Denemede, 12 günlük yaşta – karışık cinsiyette - 160 adet Japon bıldırcını dört tekerrürden oluşan her bir deneme grubuna rastlantısal olarak dağıtılmışlardır (4 deneme grubu x 4 tekerrür x 10 bıldırcın = 160 adet bıldırcın). Deneme grupları; (I) Kontrol (K) – bazal rasyon, (II) K + 200 ppm FB1, (III) K + 1000 ppm KUY, (IV) K + 200 ppm FB1 + 1000 ppm KUY şeklinde düzenlenmiş olup; canlı ağırlık kazancı (CAA), yem tüketimi (YT) ve yem değerlendirme katsayısı (YDK) haftalık olarak belirlenmiştir. Deneme sonu itibariyle II. gruptaki bıldırcınlar CAA ve YT bakımından diğer deneme gruplarından önemli seviyede düşük bulunmuştur (P<0.05). Keza, II. grubun YDK ve ölüm oranı (ÖO) da diğer gruplardan önemli seviyede yüksek bulunmuştur (P<0.05). FB1 içeren rasyonlara KUY ilavesi CAA, YT, YDK ve ÖO’yu olumlu yönde etkilemiş, ancak FB1 içermeyen gruba KUY ilavesi besi performansı (CAA, YT, YDK) ve ÖO bakımından her hangi bir katkı sağlamamıştır. Bu deneme bulgularına göre, 200 ppm FB1 içeren bıldırcın rasyonlarına 1000 ppm KUY ilavesinin FB1’den kaynaklanan olumsuzlukların giderilmesinde etkili olduğu söylenebilir.

The Effects of Inclusion of Thyme Essential Oil To Diet Containing Fumonisin B1 on Performance Traits of Japanese Quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica)

Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the effects of inclusion of thyme essential oil to diet containing fumonisin B1 on performance traits of Japanese quails. In the present study, a total of 160 12-d-old Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) were randomly distributed into four experimental groups (4 replicates with 10 quails) and fed following diets for 28 days: I) Control group (C): basal diet; II) C+200 ppm FB1; III) C+1000 ppm thyme essential oil (TEO); IV) C+200 ppm FB1+1000 ppm TEO of diet. Performance parameters were determined weekly. Feed were given ad libitum. The results showed that feeding alone with FB1-containing diet significantly decreased body weight gain and feed consumption during the experimental period. The inclusion of TEO to FB1-containing diet significantly (P<0.05) reduced the deleterious effects of FB1 on body weight gain and feed consumption. Also, the inclusion of TEO to FB1-containing diet significantly (P<0.05) improved in feed conversion ratio and liveability compared with the FB1 containing group, but the inclusion of TEO to the control diet did not improve in performance traits and liveability. These results suggested that the inclusion of TEO to FB1-containing diet effectively diminished the detrimental effects of FB1 on performance traits and liveability of Japanese quails.
