Effects of Seed Settlement Site on The Spike on Yield and Some Yield Components of Wheat Varieties
Abstract
This research was conducted to determine effect of seed settlement site on the spike and growing conditions on yield and yield components of bread wheat (Bezostaja-1, Gün-91) and durum wheat (Kunduru-1149, Çakmak-79) varieties. The wheat varieties were grown watery and dry conditions 1994-95 growing season. Seeds were taken lower, middle and upper site of spike and seeded 1995-96 growing season. The effect of seed settlement site on the spike on grain yield, fertile number m2, seed number and weight per spike, spike lenght and 1000 grain weight were investigated. According to the results of experiment, the highest grain yield (412.3 kg. da¹) was obtained when seeds were taken middle site of spike. The lowest grain yield (367.9 kg.da-¹) was obtained when seeds were taken upper site of spike.
