Effect of Different Working Conditions on Tractor Ride Vibration

Abstract

Vibration which is the most important ergonomic factor in working with the agricultural tractors, has adverse effect on both health and working efficiency of the drivers. The objective of this research is to determine vertical acceleration under the seat on the tractor body in driving at different field conditions and forward speeds of tractor which have two different mass. According to the results, the vertical acceleration varied between 2.2 to 5.2 m/s2. Acceleration Increased with increasing forward speed and field surface roughness and decreased with increasing tractor mass. Analysis of variance shown that the effects on acceleration of tractor mass, field surface roughness and forward velocity levels were significant (p<0.01).
