G-20 Üyesi Ülkelerde Finansal Gelişme, Yenilenebilir Enerji Tüketimi ve Turizmin İklim Değişikliği ile İlişkisi

Abstract
Bu çalışmanın
amacı Türkiye’nin de dâhil olduğu G-20 ülke grubu için karbondioksit salınımını
finansal gelişme, turizm ve enerji tüketimi göstergeleri ile açıklamaktır. Bu
amaçla çalışmada G-20 üyesi 19 ülkeye ait 1995-2017 dönemi yıllık verileri
kullanılarak bir panel veri analizi yapılmıştır. Öncelikle değişkenlere ait
uzun dönemli eşbütünleşme ilişkisi olup olmadığı Pedroni ve Kao eşbütünleşme
testleri ile sınanmış ve uzun dönemde değişkenler arasında güçlü eşbütünleşme
ilişkisine rastlanmıştır. Ardından FMOLS ve DOLS yöntemleri ile yapılan uzun
dönem katsayı tahmin sonuçları ise enerji tüketiminin uzun dönemde karbondioksit
emisyonunu artırdığını gösterirken, FMOLS test sonuçları yenilenebilir enerji
tüketimi ve turizm gelirlerindeki artışın emisyon üzerinde azaltıcı bir etkiye
sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Dolayısıyla elde edilen sonuçlar G-20 ülkelerinin
iklim değişikliği ile mücadeledeki önemini bir kez daha vurgularken, bu ülkelerde
çevre-dostu politikaların turizm bağlamında bir öncelik olduğunu
göstermektedir. Öte yandan her iki modelde de finansal gelişmenin karbon
emisyonu üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir etkisi olmadığı sonucuna
varılmıştır.
