A RESEARCH ON LOCATİON-BASED APPLİCATİON USİNG BEHAVIORS

Abstract

The usage of social media has been gradually increasing throughout the world. By using the social media sites and smartphone applications such as Foursquare, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Latitude, users are enable to share posts in order to make notifications about what they do and where they are. In this regard, many location sharing systems have been developed for more than 20 years, however, some of them have just started to be accepted by consumers. With the increasing usage of location-based services (LBS), which provide the location by determining the geographic position information, users reaction toward such services have become one of the important topics. Additionally, the availability of location-based applications both on iOS and Android devices, has made the LBSs much more accessible to mobile users. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the users’ usage behaviors of location based applications. For achieving this purpose, a field research was conducted on young users, at the age range of 16-29, who are also the heavily users of location based applications. ln this regard, 383 users from that age range were selected for being applied the questionnaire using convenient sampling procedure. Findings revealed that perceived functional value, hedonic value and social impact affected user’s attitudes and then these attitudes had a positive influence on purchasing intention.
