Gençlerde Algılanan Sosyal Desteğin Evlilik Korkusuna Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırma, genç bireylerde algılanan sosyal desteğin evlilik korkusu üzerindeki etkisini incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma, nicel araştırma yöntem-lerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli ile desenlenmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemini 18-30 yaş aralığında yer alan, 252’si (%63,5) kadın ve 145’i (%36,5) erkek olmak üzere toplam 397 genç birey oluşturmuştur. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması x̄=19,99±1,96’dır. Veriler, Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği ve Evlilik Korkusu (Gamofobi) Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistiklerin yanı sıra Pearson korelasyon ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizleri uygulanmıştır. Bulgular, katılımcıların evlilik korkusu ve algıladıkları sosyal destek düzeylerinin orta seviyede olduğunu göstermektedir. Evlilik korkusu ile sosyal destek algısı ve alt boyutları arasında negatif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Regresyon analizi sonucunda, bireylerin özellikle ailelerinden ve özel bir insandan algıladıkları sosyal destek düzeyi arttıkça evlilik korkusu düzeylerinin anlamlı biçimde azaldığı görülmüştür. Araştırma bulguları, ilgili kuramsal yaklaşımlar ve literatürdeki ampirik çalışmalar çerçevesinde tartışılmış, sosyal destek sistemlerinin gençlerin evliliğe yönelik korkuları üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmiş ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

Examining the Effect of Perceived Social Support on Fear of Marriage Among Young People

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the impact of perceived social support on the fear of marriage among young individuals. The study employed a correlational survey model, a quantitative research method. The sample consisted of 397 young individuals aged 18-30, including 252 (63.5%) women and 145 (36.5%) men. The mean age of the participants was x̄ = 19.99 ± 1.96. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale and the Fear of Marriage (Gamophobia) Scale. In addi-tion to descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analy-ses were applied to analyze the data. The findings indicate that participants' fear of marriage and their perceived levels of social support are moderate. Significant negati-ve correlations were found between the fear of marriage and perceived social support, as well as its subscales. Regression analysis revealed that as individuals' perceived levels of social support, particularly from their families and a special person, increa-sed, their levels of fear of marriage decreased significantly. The research findings were discussed within the framework of relevant theoretical approaches and empirical stu-dies in the literature, the effects of social support systems on young people's fears of marriage were evaluated, and recommendations were made.
