Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

The Journal of Social and Humanities Research (sobbiad) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics throughout all stages of the editorial and publication process. The journal follows the principles set forth in the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the TR Dizin Principles of Scientific Publication Ethics issued by ULAKBİM, and the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

SOBBIAD is founded on the principles of integrity, transparency, impartiality, and accountability in scholarly publishing. The journal places great importance on publication ethics as an essential component of the production, dissemination, and advancement of original, high-quality scientific knowledge.

1. Ethical Principles

  1. Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. Compliance with research and publication ethics is mandatory throughout all stages of the publication process.
  3. Following the editorial screening, all eligible manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. A third reviewer may be appointed when necessary.
  4. All submissions are screened for similarity using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts involving plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, salami slicing, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, or any other form of publication misconduct will be rejected. If such misconduct is identified after publication, the journal will initiate correction or retraction procedures as appropriate.
  5. Studies involving human participants or animals must have received the necessary ethics committee approval and any required legal permissions before the research was conducted.
  6. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope. Factors such as race, gender, religion, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political views do not influence editorial decisions.
  7. Editors, reviewers, and authors are required to maintain the confidentiality of all information and documents related to the peer review process.
  8. The journal requires all conflicts of interest to be disclosed and managed transparently.
  9. The scientific content and legal responsibility for published articles rest solely with the authors.
  10. The journal reserves the right to publish corrections, retractions, editorial expressions of concern, or other editorial notices whenever necessary.
  11. Editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher are expected to comply with the ethical responsibilities defined by COPE.
