Year 2024, Volume: 21 Issue: 2, 368 - 384, 15.08.2024

Abstract

This study examines the impact of perceived work values on job satisfaction among individuals employed in the hospitality sector. The research was conducted in hospitality businesses within Mersin province, and the findings obtained through quantitative methods were evaluated within the framework of four main hypotheses. It was found that the dimensions of perceived work values, namely extrinsic/instrumental, intrinsic/cognitive, social/altruistic, and prestige/appreciation, have significant effects on job satisfaction. The research was carried out with 393 participants. Data collection was conducted through both face-to-face and online methods, and the analyses were performed using SPSS, employing multiple regression analysis and confirmatory factor analysis techniques. The findings of the research indicate that all four dimensions of perceived work values positively affect job satisfaction. The social/altruistic dimension was found to have a stronger impact on job satisfaction compared to the other dimensions. These results demonstrate that perceived work values play a crucial role in enhancing job satisfaction levels among employees. The study's outcomes elucidate the complex relationships between perceived work values and job satisfaction, providing guidance for business managers in developing strategies to enhance job satisfaction.

Year 2024, Volume: 21 Issue: 2, 368 - 384, 15.08.2024

Abstract

Bu çalışma, konaklama sektöründe çalışan bireylerin iş değer algılarının iş tatmini üzerindeki etkisini incelemektedir. Araştırma, Mersin ili konaklama işletmelerinde yürütülmüş olup, Nicel yöntemler kullanılarak elde edilen bulgular, dört ana hipotez çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma değer algısının dışsal/araçsal, içsel/bilişsel, sosyal/özgeci ve prestij/takdir boyutları, iş tatmini üzerinde anlamlı etkilere sahip bulunmuştur. Araştırma, 393 katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin toplanması, yüz yüze ve çevrimiçi yöntemlerle yapılmış, analizler SPSS kullanılarak çoklu regresyon analizi ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi teknikleri ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma bulguları, dört çalışma değer algısı boyutunun da iş tatmini üzerinde pozitif etkileri olduğunu göstermektedir. Sosyal/özgeci boyutun iş tatmini üzerindeki etkisi diğer boyutlara kıyasla daha güçlü bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlar, işletmelerdeki çalışanların iş tatmini düzeylerinin artırılmasında çalışma değer algısının önemli bir rol oynadığını göstermektedir. Çalışmanın sonuçları, iş değer algılarının ve iş tatmininin karmaşık ilişkilerini ortaya koymakta ve işletme yöneticilerine, iş tatminini artırıcı stratejiler geliştirmede rehberlik etmektedir
