Eternity at Tanpınar

Abstract

The concept “eternity” is one of the most important concepts of which Tanpınar considered seriously as he constituting his own conception of aesthetics and of art. Getting to eternity is possible only for him within perfection. He was influenced by Paul Valery and Yahya Kemal. According to him, the perfection in art gives only the image of eternity and never stops the deep yearning of human’s spirit.
