Abstract
Cemal Süreya, İkinci Yeni hareketinin önde gelen şairlerindendir. Şiirlerinde dilin etkili kullanımına özel bir önem verir, şiirde sık sık sürprizli ifadelere başvurur. Onun şiirlerinde sürprizli ifadeler dile, imgeye veya özel adlara bağlı olarak gelişir. Cemal Süreya’nın sürprizli ifadelere verdiği önemi anlamak için ondan birkaç şiir okumak yeterlidir. Şairin özgün şiir dili, beklenmedik ifadelerin şaşırtıcı etkisiyle kimlik kazanır. İmgesel sürprizler, Cemal Süreya şiirinde şaşırtıcı imgelerle veya klişe imgelerin dönüştürülmesiyle sağlanır. Öte yandan, özel adlarla sağlanan sürpriz kullanımlar bu şiire büyük zenginlik katar. Türk edebiyatında özel adları imgesel anlam yükleyerek yaygın şekilde başarıyla kullanabilen tek şair Cemal Süreya’dır. Dilsel sürprizler ise onun şiirinde Orta Asya Türkçesinden sözcüklere yer verme veya beklenen ifade yerine beklenmeyen ifadeyi kullanma şeklinde gerçekleşir

Abstract
Cemal Süreya is one of the most prominent poets of İkinci Yeni (The Second New) movement. He pays a special importance to using of language and often resorts to surprising expressions. The surprising expressions in his poems flourish depending on language, images or proper names. It is enough to read a couple poems by Cemal Süreya in order to understand the importance that he gives to surprising expressions. The original poetry language of the poet obtains identity with the surprising effect of unexpected expressions. Imagery surprises in Cemal Süreya’s poetry are provided by surprising images or by transformation of cliché
images. Besides, surprising expressions which are provided by proper names add a
tremendous richness to this poetry. The only poet who uses proper names
extensively and successfully by attributing imagery meanings to them in Turkish
literature is Cemal Süreya. Lingual surprises occur in form of giving place to words
from Central Asian Turkish or instead of using the expected expression using an
unexpected one.
