Social Entrepreneurship and Voluntary Organizations
Abstract
In today’s societies, innovative solutions are needed in order to struggle with increasing social problems. Social entrepreneurship, which finds sustainable solutions for social problems, practices these solutions, and creates social value, has arisen because of this need. Social entrepreneurship is applied in public, private and third sector institutions which are three main sectors serving to society. With the increasing number of social entrepreneurship applications carrying out in these sectors, the need for social entrepreneurship education has arisen. When three main sectors are evaluated in terms of giving education, it is seen that voluntary organizations, which are part of third sector, are prominent organizations regarding giving social entrepreneurship education.
In this context, the aim of the study is to reveal the importance of social entrepreneurship education that is recently outstanding and individual and social benefits of giving this education through voluntary organizations.
