Article Evaluation Process

Double-Blind Evaluation Process

1. Article Application and submission: The relevant author submits his/her article to https://dergipark.org.tr/en/journal/2671/submission/step/manuscript/new Spormetre Journal of Physical Education and Sport Sciences by logging into the Dergipark online system.

2. Editorial Evaluation: The editorial office checks whether the article is organized according to the spelling rules of the journal at the preliminary control stage. Scientific content is not evaluated at this stage. Our journal scans all submitted articles with the Intihal.net program to prevent plagiarism. The similarity rate is expected to be less than 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this rate will be returned to the authors at the preliminary review stage.

3. Evaluation by the editor: The editor checks whether the article is original or not. If not, the article is rejected and the process is completed.

4. Referee Invitation: The editor sends an invitation to two referees to evaluate the scientific content of the article. If one referee gives a positive opinion and one referee gives a negative opinion, the article is sent to a third referee.

5. Response to the Invitation: The selected referees confidentially evaluate the invited manuscript for their expertise, conflicts of interest and usability. They then accept or reject it.

6. Review Process: After the referee evaluates the manuscript in detail (within a maximum of 90 days), he/she sends the referee evaluation form to the editor with his/her criticisms and suggestions. If the referee wants to re-evaluate the manuscript after major or minor revisions, the suggestions and criticisms are communicated to the authors and they are asked to upload the corrected manuscript to the system again. This process continues until the referee responds with acceptance or rejection. Referee evaluations are carried out within the scope of double blind refereeing.

7. Evaluation Process of the Journal: The editor considers all the returned reviews before making a general decision. If the peer review results are very different, the editor may ask for an additional review to get an additional opinion before making a decision.

8. Communicating the Decision: The editor adds the referee reports to the final decision on the manuscript, with the referees' names withheld, and sends it to the author via the online system and e-mail.

9. Next Steps: If the article is accepted, it is sent to the language editor. Steps after these stages;

• Last copy post

• Layout

• Adjustments

• Placing the submissions to be published on the web page as early edition

• Creation of number

• Editing the table of contents

• Publishing as an issue on the website and printing
