Statement on Informed Consent

Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences Journal of Selçuk Health Statement on Informed Consent

  • When conducting experimental studies involving human subjects, securing informed consent from participants or their legal representatives is absolutely essential. The informed consent form must ensure participants are fully and transparently informed about all procedures they may encounter throughout the research. This requirement for obtaining consent applies to both forward-looking (prospective) and backward-looking (retrospective) studies.

  • Should there be any procedures in the research designed to mitigate pain, harm, or discomfort for participants, these must be thoroughly explained to them. Any intervention carrying potential risks should be clearly outlined and justified within the consent form.

  • Authors are required to declare that their research has been conducted in accordance with internationally recognized guidelines, such as the Declaration of Helsinki, the National Institutes of Health Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and the directives published by their respective national authorities. The Selçuk University Faculty of Health Sciences Journal of Selçuk Health requests authors to provide a copy of the Ethics Committee Approval obtained from the relevant body.

  • Our journal places significant emphasis on the ethical responsibilities of both authors and editors. Adherence to the aforementioned principles by our authors is therefore a critical prerequisite for their work to be considered for evaluation and subsequently published in our journal, should it be accepted.

  • By submitting their work to our journal, authors confirm that informed consent has been obtained from the individuals participating in the study or their legal guardians, and that all necessary ethical clearances for the research have been fully secured.
