As Journal of Selçuk Health, we have embraced the Budapest Open Access Declaration. Our goal is to ensure that scientific knowledge is freely and limitlessly accessible to everyone, without financial, legal, or technical barriers.

This philosophy combines the traditional scientific custom of researchers voluntarily sharing their findings with the possibilities offered by the internet. This synergy enables the worldwide electronic dissemination of peer-reviewed scientific literature, providing unrestricted access to information for researchers, educators, students, and curious individuals alike.

• Scope of Open Access:
  Open access primarily covers peer-reviewed journal articles and preprints of works published by authors for commentary or to share important research findings before undergoing peer review. This means scientific literature should be accessible, readable, saveable, copyable, printable, scannable, linkable to full text, indexable, transferable as data to software, and usable for any lawful purpose via the internet. Authors' copyrights will be safeguarded to ensure the integrity of their work and proper recognition.
  

• Funding and Sustainability:
  While open-access publishing is not without cost, experience shows that overall expenses are significantly lower than traditional distribution methods. Selçuk Journal of Health Sciences will not charge subscription or access fees. Instead, we will rely on alternative funding models to cover our costs, such as research-funding institutions, universities, foundations, and other supporters.
  

• Our Strategies for Ensuring Open Access:
  Our journal supports two main strategies to achieve the goal of open access:
  1. Self-Archiving: We encourage scientists to deposit their peer-reviewed journal articles in open electronic archives. When these archives comply with international standards, they allow users worldwide to easily access information.
  2. Open Access Journals: Our journal adopts the next-generation publishing model with an open-access philosophy. Copyrights for articles will be used to ensure the permanence of open access for publications, not to restrict access.
  

• Our aim is for peer-reviewed journal literature to be entirely open access. To this end, we will continue to explore innovative approaches to transition from existing distribution methods to open access and adapt to local conditions.
