All types of manuscripts submitted for publication are subject to Editorial Board Review, Pre-Evaluation, and Peer Review processes.

1. Editorial Board Review
The manuscripts that reach our journal are reviewed by the editorial board. Inadequate manuscripts are returned to the author by the editorial board without being included in the refereeing process.

2. Pre-Evaluation Process
Manuscripts reviewed by the editorial board are taken to the pre-control process. Manuscripts are reviewed in terms of journal writing principles. Studies deemed appropriate are directed to the technical editor and evaluated within 3 days in terms of writing rules, template compliance, bibliography order, ethics committee permission and plagiarism report. The maximum similarity rate in our journal is accepted as 25%. Submissions exceeding 25% similarity rate are returned to the author. When uploading the manuscript file, the similarity report must be uploaded to the journal system by the author(s). The program to be used must be specified.(e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or Intihal.net).

3. Peer-Review Process
Manuscripts sent to our journal are first reviewed by the Editorial Board in terms of compliance with the journal's principles. Academic impartiality and scientific quality are the most important criteria in the evaluation of articles submitted for publication. The field editor ensures mutual communication between the author and the referee, while preserving confidentiality. Referees undertake not to use the work they evaluate for their own benefit and not to share any information or documents related to the work with a third party. Submitted manuscripts must not have been published before or published in an archive journal or book. If the article is deemed appropriate as a result of the initial evaluation by the editor, the study is assigned to the field editor within 2 days. The "Field editor" assigned according to the field of study manages the referee process. The field editor primarily appoints at least two independent referees who have a doctoral dissertation, book or article related to the subject and initiates the evaluation process. The referee process is carried out confidentially within the framework of the double-blind refereeing practice. The names of the referees are kept strictly confidential. (Referees do not know the identities of the authors, and authors do not know the identities of the referees.) 3 days are given for the referee invitation process. If no response is received within this period, a new referee is assigned.
The referee evaluation period is determined as 10 days. The referees evaluate the study in terms of scientific content, method, findings and ethical compliance and upload their reports to the system. If there is a difference of opinion, a third referee can be assigned.
A research must receive a positive evaluation from at least two referees in order to be accepted to the journal. If one referee evaluates it positively and the second referee evaluates it negatively, the research can be sent to a third referee or the Editorial Board can review the referee reports and make the final decision.
The authors take into consideration the criticisms and suggestions of the referees and the Editorial Board. Manuscripts sent for publication are checked for plagiarism using a special program used to detect plagiarism.
Manuscripts requiring revision are sent to the author(s) electronically. The author(s) must evaluate the referee comments very carefully and explain each comment or criticism one by one; in addition, if the author(s) do not agree with the referee's criticism, they must prepare a detailed explanation. Authors are given 5 days for revision. If the manuscript is not revised and sent back to the editor within this period, it is accepted as a new submission.
The revised study is reviewed by the referee(s) again within 2 days and the adequacy of the corrections made is evaluated. If necessary, a new correction is requested.
In case of negative evaluation by two referees, the research will not be published in the journal.
Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Health Sciences Journal does not charge any fees from the authors for the manuscript evaluation and publication process. Turnitin and İntihal.net programs are used to detect plagiarism in academic studies.
