To contribute to the development of Turcology by publishing articles, description, and reviews in the field of Turkish language, literature, history, art, etc.

Our journal covers Turcology in a broadest sense and gives place to articles, researches, description, and reviews in various fields such as the education and training of Turkish, Turkish art and music, Turkish medicine history, Turkish economics history, Turkish science history, and Turkish sports history as well as Turkish language, literature, history, and folklore.

The rules that should be followed in the writing procedures of the articles to be sent to STAD Electronic Journal of Turcology Researches are given below. APA standards are adopted in the bibliography, masthead order, making reference and quotation. Articles written without obeying these rules and principles will not be included in the scientific review.

Publication language of our journal is Turkish and English. Besides, scientific articles, description, and reviews written in contemporary Turkish language and Russian, German, and French which are recognized as foreign languages of Turcology are also included.

                                                      Author Guidelines

Articles should be written in Times New Roman and single space, and 11 font should be used within the text.

Article title should be written with bold, capital letters and 12 font, and centered on the page. The title must be brief and informative about the subject. The length of the title should not exceed twelve words. The titles must reflect the content and subject area of the article. The initial letter of the author name of the article should be uppercase, while other letters are lowercase, 10 font, and centered under the title. The university which the author of the article together with his/her title, and e-mail address should be stated with  * symbol right after the surname and at the beginning of the footnote and should be in 9 font. Example:

*Prof. Dr., University, Faculty, Department, namesurname@university.edu.tr 

At the beginning of the article, there should be an equivalent Turkish and English abstract. Abstracts should consist of 250 words approximately. Minimum five maximum seven keywords in Turkish and English equivalently should be below the abstract. Abstract and keywords should be 9 font. 

Sections and Sub-sections The first level main titles should be 11 font, bold, and straight. The subject of the study should be clearly stated in the introduction. The introduction part should be followed by method, findings, interpretation/discussion, and conclusion parts. The second level subtitles should be 10 font, bold, and italic; the third level subtitles should be 10 font and italic; the fourth level subtitles should be 10 font, italic and started with a tab indent. The first letter of the words in each level title should be capitalized.

Footnotes and Bibliography References must be in accordance with the APA (American Psychological Association) standards. When footnote is to be placed in texts, explanations must be stated at the end of the page by giving numbers in the article. Footnotes must be 8 font, while references in Bibliography part must be 9 font.

Figures The statement of “Figure” should be given below the figure and if there is more than one figure in the text, they must be enumerated. If the figure is taken from another resource, the resource, which is quoted, should be referred after stating the name of the figure. 

Tables In the text, the statement of Table should be above the table and enumerated, and its content must be explained as a title next to table number. Only initials of table titles must be capitalized. No letters should be written to the right or left part of the tables. Tables should be created only by using Table menu in Microsoft Word. Table title and its content should be Calibri 9-10 font and single space. 

 

                                                                      Reference and Bibliography Guidelines

General Rules

· If the number of authors is more than six, the names of the first six authors are given in masthead, and “others” statement is used after the sixth author.

· If the publication date is not available, the last copyright date is given. If the date information cannot be found in any way, then “n.d” abbreviation, which refers to “no date,” is used.

· (Ed.) abbreviation is used instead of editor(s), and (Prep.) is used after the name of the person, who prepares the text for the publication.

· The name of journals and books are written italic and without abbreviation.

· Proceedings books are cited as a book and a statement from a proceedings book is cited as a book chapter.

· Information taken from a specific part of the main reference resources (encyclopedia, dictionary, biography etc.) is quoted as a book chapter.

· If the author of the entries in the main reference resources is unknown, then the name of entries are given

· In the cases of theses, the statements of “master’s thesis,” “doctoral dissertation” or “proficiency in art thesis” are used after the name of the thesis. The name of the university that the degree is given, and its place is stated.

· References of law and regulations are written by stating the name of the law. After the name of the law, the date of the adoption of the law (only in years) and the date of publication of the resource (as day, month, year) which the related law is published are given.

· Basic information, as well as access date and access address information, are given for electronic resources.

· The last update date is considered as the publication date for electronic resources.

· Personal interviews such as letters, e-mails, phone calls need not be included in the bibliography. Interviews are made references in the texts.
