Bilgi formlarında; envanter no, müzeye geldiği gün, müzeye geliş şekli, eserin adı, bulunduğu yer, en-boy ve kompozisyon özelliklerine yer verilmiştir. Farklı yörelere ait 14 adet benzer düz dokuma örneği araştırmayı güçlendirmek amacıyla ele alınmıştır. Heybe dokumacılığına ilişkin destekleyici veriler literatür taraması sonucu elde edilmiştir.
Saddlebag weavings, which are an important part of the nomadic life style, are the weavings that are worn on the saddle by the riding animals or worn on the shoulders of the people, or carried by hanging their heads through the slit in the middle and hanging them on the front and back. This type of weaving, which is mostly used to carry the goods needed while going from one place to another, provides great convenience in people’s lives. Saddlebag weaving, which was found in almost every house in the past, has lost its importance over time and its production has decreased considerably, as with other types of weaving, especially with the disappearance of transhumance in many regions today. We see this type of weaving, which has few examples, mostly in museums and private collections. In this context, museums, which aim to keep our cultural values alive, protect and transfer them to future generations, are also of great importance in terms of maintaining our connection with the past. In Kars, which has hosted many civilizations for thousands of years, the Kars Museum was established as a result of the museum studies that started with the Republican period. Saddlebag weaving samples are exhibited in the ethnography section of the Kars Museum, where valuable handicraft products compiled from Kars and its surroundings are exhibited. Saddlebag weavings show great richness in terms of color, pattern and composition and are among the works worth examining. This work; It is very important in terms of creating a new source about flat woven saddlebags and shedding light on new studies to be done.
Scope of work; 11 flat woven saddlebags in Kars Museum were handled and a description was tried to be made. The obtained data were determined by scanning method. The technical and pattern features of the saddlebags are explained in detail. Under the heading of technical specifications; average saddlebag sizes, the type of material used in weft, warp and knot (loom) yarn and weaving techniques applied to weavings are given. Photographs of 11 saddlebag weavings registered in the Kars museum inventory were taken, and the information and composition features in the inventory book were added under each photograph. In information forms; The inventory number of the weavings, the day they came to the museum, the way they came to the museum, the name of the work, the place where it was found, the aspect dimensions and composition features are given. The colors used in weaving, technical features, general conditions, decoration subject and motif names are among the information under the composition title. In order to strengthen the research, the photographs of 14 flat woven saddlebag samples with pattern similarities are given under the work review forms. Pattern similarities of the saddlebags are found in Konya, Gazipaşa, Antalya, İçel, Yozgat, Tunceli, Tarsus, Niğde (Kızılca Town), Muğla, Azerbaijan (Karabağ), Ardahan (Hanak / Avcılar), Ardahan (Mut / Alaçam Village) and Nevşehir (Ürgüp) weavings. seen.
