Pseudomonas spp is aerobic gram negative a bacterium, which is a member of the Pseudomonaceae family, an important cause of hospital infections and has become a problem to be solved in intensive care units. In our study, a total of 54 Pseudomonas spp. antibiotic resistance properties and biofilm were investigated. These samples were from 24% anesthesia and reanimation unit, 22% from newborn instensive care unit, 15% from child intensive care unit, 13% from internal medicine, 9% from emergency medicine, 6% from orthopedics medicine, 4% from neurology intensive care unit, 4% internal medicine instensive care unit, 4% general surgery instensive care unit isolated. Pseudomonas spp. strains were tested for antibiotic resistance by disk diffusion method. Resistance to aztreonam was 94.4%, piperacillin 59.3%, meropenem 27.8%, levofloxacin 18.5%, gentamicin and imipenem 16.7%, cefepime and piperacillin tazobactam 14.8%, netilmicin and ciprofloxacin 13.0%, amikacin and ceftazidime 7.4% resistance. The ability of the strains to form biofilm was evaluated by the congo red agar phenotypic detection method and 19% of the strains were positive for biofilm production. It was concluded that policies should be developed to be careful in the use of antibiotics which are common in our country, taking measures to prevent biofilm formation in invasive procedures and investigating biofilm formation by molecular methods.
