This research was carried out to compare Young's modulus and Poisson's ratios measured by ultrasonic method and tensile test experiment in orthotropic composite materials consisting of E-glass/epoxy and Carbon/epoxy. Information about E-glass/epoxy and Carbon/epoxy composite materials has been given to a company. We got the company produced the composite materials in accordance with standards. 5800PR ultrasonic pulse generator-receiver device and GW Instek GDS-2062 model 60 MHz digital oscilloscope were used for ultrasonic velocity measurements. Instron 3520 device was used for the tensile test. According to the results obtained by ultrasonic method and tensile test, the closest ratio was E2 Young's modulus of Carbon/epoxy composite material with 92%. Yet another closest ratio was the E1 Young's modulus value of the E-glass/epoxy composite with 88%. The Poisson value of the E-glass/epoxy composite was found to be similar at a rate of 72%. The tensile test method is a destructive method, while the ultrasonic method is a non-destructive method. In the study, Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio values obtained with these two methods agree with each other. The tensile test method involves more difficult and meticulous work than the ultrasonic method. At the end of the tensile test, the plates can be quite damaged. Considering these results, it can be said that the ultrasonic method is a more advantageous and cheaper method than the tensile test, which is the destructive method.
