Karl Popper’ın Metafizik Temelli Bilim Tasarımı ve Yanlışlanabilirlik İlkesi Problemi

Abstract

Bir bilim felsefecisi olan Karl Popper’ın düşünceleri çoğu zaman ilginç ve çekici bulunmuştur. Bunun en önemli nedenlerinden biri bilimin yapısı, yöntemi ve işleyişi hakkında klasik bilim tasarımını eleştirerek kendine has bir bilim tasarımı ve yöntemi oluşturmasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Bilimin ve bilimsel düşüncenin genellikle metafiziksel öğelerden meydana geldiğini vurgulayarak bilim tasarımının temeline metafiziksel unsurları yerleştirmiştir. Bu çalışmada bilim tasarımının temelinde neden metafiziksel unsurlar olması gerektiği ve bu tasarımın klasik bilim tasarımından nasıl farklılaştığı tartışılmaya çalışılacaktır. Klâsik bilim tasarımına sıkı sıkıya bağlı olan mantıkçı pozitivizmin Popper ile bağlantısı üzerinde durularak benzeşen ve farklılaşan hususlar belirlenmeye çalışılarak, mantıkçı pozitivizmin Popper için ne derecede önemli bir düşünce yapısına sahip olabileceği üzerinde durulacaktır. Bunun yanında klasik bilim tasarımında yaygın olarak kabul görülen tümevarım yöntemini ve doğrulanabilirlik ilkesini hangi gerekçelerle reddettiği üzerinde durulacaktır. Popper, klasik bilim tasarımındaki yöntemler yerine yanlışlanabilirlik ilkesinin, bilimin yapısını, yöntemini ve işleyişini açıklamada daha iyi olduğu düşüncesindedir. Bu çalışmada yalnızca bir öneri olarak değerlendirilebilecek olan Popper’ın bu düşüncesi ve beraberinde oluşabilecek muhtemel problemler tartışılmaya çalışılacaktır.

Karl Popper's Design of Science Based on Metaphysics and the Problem of Falsifiability Principle

Abstract

The ideas of Karl Popper, a philosopher of science, have often been found interesting and appealing. One of the most important reasons for this is that he criticized the classical conception of science regarding its structure, method, and operation, thereby creating his own unique conception and method of science. By emphasizing that science and scientific thought are generally composed of metaphysical elements, he placed metaphysical elements at the foundation of the conception of science. This study will attempt to discuss why metaphysical elements should be at the foundation of the conception of science and how this conception differs from the classical conception of science. Focusing on the connection between logical positivism, which is closely tied to classical scientific design, and Popper, this study will attempt to identify similarities and differences, and will focus on the extent to which logical positivism may be an important intellectual structure for Popper. In addition, the reasons for rejecting the inductive method and the principle of verifiability, which are widely accepted in the classical scientific design, will be discussed. Popper believes that the principle of falsifiability is better than the methods in the classical conception of science for explaining the structure, method, and functioning of science. This study will attempt to discuss Popper's idea, which can only be considered a suggestion, and the potential problems that may arise with it.
