The word renk (colour), which derives from the Persian word reng, expresses the quality and variety of something. Color names do not only express colors, but also plant names, animal names, place names, person names, disease names etc. are formed with these words. Sometimes the same color name can meet both a color and another concept. Many studies have been carried out on the Tarama Sözlüğü, which includes Turkish words in the works written in Turkey Turkish between the XIII.-XIXth centuries. In this study, color names and words that mean color are discussed in the Tarama Sözlüğü. Words were examined in terms of morphology and semantics. In the part where the words were examined in terms of morphology, the words were classified according to the suffixes, and examples were given for each word from the sentences in the Tarama Sözlüğü. Turkish grammar books about the formation of words were used, and the information given by the researchers about the suffixes was given.
Morfolojik açıdan incelendiği kısımda sözcükler aldığı eklere göre sınıflandırmalara tabi tutulmuş, her sözcüğe Tarama Sözlüğü’nde yer alan cümlelerden örnekler verilmiştir. Sözcüklerin kuruluşuyla ilgili Türkçe gramer kitaplarından istifade edilmiş, ekler hakkında araştırmacıların verdikleri bilgiler aktarılmıştır.
