Çevrede meydana gelen değişimler, örgütün bu değişime vereceği / vermesi
gereken cevaplar ve çevre örgüt etkileşim; gerek stratejik yönetimin gerekse de
örgüt kuramlarının ana araştırma alanlarından olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı,
firmaların çevreleri ile uyum sağlama sürecinin nasıl geliştiğini ortaya
koymaktır. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda firmaların çevresel uyum
süreçlerinin belirleyicisi olarak, Miles ve Snow Tipolojisine esas teşkil eden "uyum
döngüsü" kavramı esas alınmıştır. Çalışmada öncelikle uyum döngüsü kavramı
alt boyutlarıyla birlikte literatür taramasına dayalı olarak incelenmiştir. Devamında
uyum döngüsüne bağlı olarak Miles ve Snow Tipolojisinde açıklanmış olan firmaların
takip ettikleri farklı strateji tipleri ayrıntılı bir şekilde açıklanmıştır.
